+160 points on the SAT Math!
“…without Peace of Pi’s help, I never would have been able to get close to my target score!“
Before joining Peace of Pi, I was struggling with math, especially geometry, and even basic concepts would trip me up during practice tests. I felt like I wasn’t improving no matter how much I studied on my own, and that was really frustrating. My friend, Angeline Fusa, who had already benefited from the program, recommended Peace of Pi to me, and after hearing her success story, I knew I had to give it a try.
The biggest challenge I faced before the course was sticking to a study schedule. I had so much going on with school and extracurricular activities, and I wasn’t sure how I would keep up with the workload. But once I started, I realized how well Peace of Pi organizes everything. The homework was spaced out in a way that made it manageable, with the more challenging problems spread across different days, and the shorter, easier ones grouped together. This structure made it so much easier for me to stay on track.
Going into the virtual group sessions, I was a little nervous. I thought it might be like the remote learning experiences from COVID, which were less than ideal, but I was pleasantly surprised. The tutors were incredibly engaging and never made the virtual environment feel awkward or impersonal. They took the time to focus on each of us individually, which made a huge difference.
The four-hour classes felt long at first, but they were definitely worth it. I went in with the mindset that I had to give it my all to improve, and I’m so glad I did. The most helpful part of the course was the practice and repetition. The homework and quizzes really drilled the concepts into my mind, and the practice exams helped me pinpoint where I was going wrong. We’d review the mistakes right away, which kept things fresh in my mind and made sure I didn’t repeat the same errors.
As a result of my hard work and Peace of Pi’s guidance, my math score improved from 550 on the PSAT to 710 on the SAT—an incredible 160-point jump! This has put me on track to earn Bright Futures, which is a huge relief. It means so much to me, especially because without Peace of Pi’s help, I never would have been able to get close to my target score.
If I had to give advice to other students starting their SAT prep journey, I would say to stick with it. Don’t just do the work to get it over with—really try to understand the material. The effort you put in will absolutely pay off. And for parents considering Peace of Pi, don’t hesitate. It’s an investment in your child’s future that will pay off in the long run.
