+160 points on the SAT Math!
“I study on my own for other exams, like APs, and I honestly wish I had Peace of Pi for those too! “
I always really cared about getting a good SAT score. Not just for college acceptances but also for scholarships like Bright Futures. I didn’t want to struggle more than I had to, so I decided to reach out for help early. Math has always been one of my stronger subjects, but I struggled a lot with retaining formulas and applying them under pressure. I would often face questions that I knew how to do but then blank out because I forgot the formula. It caused a lot of mental blocks, and I knew I needed structured support.
I hadn’t tried any other tutoring programs or self-studied before. I just jumped right in with Peace of Pi! One of my biggest fears going in was that the online format would be super disengaging. But I was surprised in a good way! Classes were nothing like that. You’re interacting every few minutes, constantly solving problems, and the instructors really keep you on your toes. There’s no room to zone out. They actually make sure you’re focused and working the whole time, and that made a huge difference for me.
The tutors were amazing. I ended up working with several of them because I had to switch class days a few times, and I really liked all of them. It helped a lot that they were young and had just gone through the SAT themselves. You could ask them how they struggled with the test, and they really understood.
The workload was a lot, I’m not gonna lie. I didn’t always finish everything, and I know that probably held me back from improving even more. But even without doing everything 100%, I still improved by 160 points in total, going from a 500 to a 660 in math. That really says a lot about how effective the program is. It made me think, “Wow—if I had really committed 100%, how much more could I have improved?”
What I loved most about Peace of Pi was the environment. The whole team is so motivational and supportive. It’s not like school, where things feel more intimidating. It’s a friendly, encouraging space. If something was going on, they’d offer to stay after class and talk it through. It really felt like they were there for me.
All of the components from homework, to class, to the practice tests worked together in a way that made the learning stick. I could ask questions during class, or even text my tutor while I was doing homework. Everything felt really accessible and connected.
I went from a diagnostic score of 1130 to a 1280 on my very first real SAT, and my math score jumped from a 500 to a 660. That’s a 160-point improvement, and I now qualify for 75% Bright Futures. It feels like such a solid starting point, and I know I can build on it even more from here.
Peace of Pi is 100% worth the investment. I study on my own for other exams, like APs, and I honestly wish I had Peace of Pi for those too. It’s like someone is on top of you—in a good way—pushing you to do the work even when you don’t feel like it. You’re paying for it, so you show up. And it works.
