+160 points on the SAT Math!

“Peace of Pi helped me understand the patterns, the sequence of questions, and how to approach each type step by step.”

Before joining Peace of Pi, I realized I needed help after taking the PSAT in my sophomore year. I scored around the low 400s in math, and when I compared my score to my friends’, I knew I needed a better way to prepare. A lot of people recommended Peace of Pi, so I decided to give it a try.

Math was never my strongest subject. I have always been at grade level, but most of my friends were ahead of me in higher-level math classes. I was not bad at math, but I definitely was not confident, especially when it came to standardized tests. Before Peace of Pi, I had not done any math tutoring, and I only worked with a college counselor for reading.

What frustrated me most about the SAT was not understanding how the test worked. I did not realize that the SAT repeats the same types of questions in different ways. Peace of Pi helped me understand the patterns, the sequence of questions, and how to approach each type step by step. That made test day feel much easier and less overwhelming.

At first, I was concerned about balancing Peace of Pi with my schoolwork and other commitments, especially since I had tournaments during the program. However, the workload was manageable. I worked on it a little every day, and the team was flexible when I communicated my schedule. They even gave us options for how much homework to do each day.

I was also worried about the four-hour classes and virtual learning. I thought it would be hard to stay focused on Zoom, but it ended up being better than I expected. The breaks made the time go by faster, and I actually learned more during the live classes than from homework alone. The tutors were engaging, relatable, and made the classes enjoyable while still being effective.

One of the most helpful parts of Peace of Pi was the extra review sessions. Even though I only attended a few, they helped a lot because they went through real SAT-style questions and explained the full process. The video explanations were also useful and helped me adjust my approach to solving problems more efficiently.

Through Peace of Pi, I improved my math score from around a 420 to a 610. On practice tests, I even scored in the 700s. While I plan to keep studying and improving, this result showed me that I am capable of getting a much higher score.

Overall, Peace of Pi was worth it. It helped me build discipline, improve my math skills, and understand how the SAT works. I would definitely recommend Peace of Pi to students who are willing to lock in, stay consistent, and put in the work. If you commit to the program, it can really help you reach your goals.
