+200 points on the SAT Math!
“Peace of Pi made sure we reviewed every single mistake until we really got it.”
Before joining Peace of Pi, I honestly didn’t know where to start. My PSAT score was really low, and I was struggling in both reading and math. I realized I was a little better at math, so I wanted to focus on that and find a program that could actually help me raise my score. My mom looked around, and a lot of people recommended Peace of Pi, and I’m so glad we went with it.
This was my first time ever doing SAT tutoring, and I was nervous at first because I thought it would be way too much work. Starting during the summer, I saw all the assignments and thought, “How am I going to do this?” But the team worked around my schedule, and the tutors were so understanding. If I had a few tests one day, I could message them, and they’d say, “It’s okay, just finish it tomorrow.” That flexibility helped me balance everything.
At first, I was worried about being distracted in virtual classes, but my tutor made it super engaging. She didn’t just teach. She talked to us, made us comfortable, and got everyone involved. If someone didn’t understand something, the whole group worked through it together. That made it way easier to learn and stay focused.
The four-hour classes honestly sounded scary at first, but after the first couple sessions, I realized it wasn’t that bad. We got a break in the middle, and the pacing made it manageable. My tutor was amazing. She explained everything clearly, adjusted her teaching style for each of us, and always made sure we understood before moving on.
What helped me the most was the constant practice: the homework, the videos, and the way Peace of Pi made sure we reviewed every single mistake until we really got it. Even when I was stuck late at night, I could go back to the videos and rewatch them. That repetition made everything click.
Thanks to the program, my math score improved from a 450 to a 650, a 200-point jump! I was so proud of myself. I honestly didn’t think I could do that, but seeing the result made me realize that if I really put in the effort, I can do anything.
Peace of Pi isn’t easy. It takes time and dedication, but it’s 100% worth it. My advice to other students is this: don’t give up. Even when it feels like too much, keep going. You’ll be so proud when you see your score go up. And if you can, find a friend to do it with! It makes it even better when you can go through it together and help each other out.
