+120 on the SAT Math!
“The course pushed me to keep up with a routine that I just didn’t have before, and that consistency is really what helped boost my score.”
Before joining Peace of Pi, I had already taken the SAT twice, but my scores were much lower than what I felt they should be compared to my high school grades. I knew I could do better because my grades in school were much higher, but I just wasn’t seeing that reflected in my SAT scores. I realized that I needed a different kind of help, and that’s when my college counselor recommended Peace of Pi.
Before the course, I did have a math tutor, but the intensity wasn’t there. With my old tutor, the sessions weren’t as efficient as what I got with Peace of Pi. The biggest difference for me was the daily homework and the discipline that came with it. It wasn’t something I was used to, but it made all the difference. The course pushed me to keep up with a routine that I just didn’t have before, and that consistency is really what helped boost my score.
I was a bit nervous about the virtual group learning at first. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I imagined the classes would be huge, like 40 or 50 people. But the groups were much smaller, which allowed us to move at a quicker pace, and that was a big plus for me. The teacher explained each problem in detail, and whenever I got something wrong, they’d help me understand my mistake right away. It was also motivating to see my classmates getting questions right when I didn’t. It pushed me to put in more effort so I could keep up with everyone else.
One of the biggest challenges I faced before Peace of Pi was time management. I knew how to do most of the questions, but I found it hard to complete them in the time given. Through the course, I learned to tackle the easier questions faster so I could save more time for the harder ones. This was a game-changer for me. The four-hour classes were long, and at first, I underestimated just how much work it would be. But I understood that it was necessary for good results, and it was definitely worth it.
In the end, my math score went from a 590 to a 710, a 120-point improvement. This improvement has given me the confidence and the motivation to keep pushing forward. It showed me that with the right support and structure, it’s possible to make big gains.
For other students thinking about taking this course, I’d say don’t over-stress about the workload. It can feel overwhelming at first, but if you manage your time well and stay consistent, it’s completely doable.
The reminders and support from the Peace of Pi team were also incredibly helpful. Sometimes I’d forget about a task, but they were always there to keep me on track. I’m really grateful for that, and it’s one of the reasons why I was able to improve so much.
