+110 points on the SAT Math!
“One thing Peace of Pi really helped me with was understanding how the SAT asks math questions…”
I had tried other prep before, but it honestly didn’t work for me. It maybe helped a little, but it never got me to the level I was aiming for. After taking a bunch of practice tests, I realized I just wasn’t getting the score I wanted. Based on what I kept hearing from other people, Peace of Pi seemed like the best way to really improve.
Going into the program, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the virtual format, but it ended up being much better than I thought. The tutors were great, and learning online was actually really effective. I also liked that the tutors were younger, because it made the environment feel more comfortable and they had taken the SAT more recently, so they really understood what we were going through.
The four-hour classes sounded intimidating at first, but honestly, they flew by. As long as you stayed active and engaged, the time moved quickly. What was much harder for me was the workload. Doing the program during the school year felt like having a part-time job on top of everything else. Between school, practice, and SAT prep, it was a lot to manage, and I definitely wish I had done it over the summer when I had more free time.
Even with that, I still learned a lot. The classes were probably the most helpful part for me because they really drilled the material into my head. I learn best by doing something over and over again until it becomes automatic, and the live classes helped with that. The office hours I joined were also really helpful because they gave me the extra explanation I needed on some of the harder topics.
One thing Peace of Pi really helped me with was understanding how the SAT asks math questions. I already knew a lot of the concepts, but the SAT presents them in a way that can be confusing and time-wasting. The program taught me how to approach those questions faster and more effectively.
In the end, I improved my SAT Math score from a 590 to a 700, which was a 110-point increase. That result meant a lot to me. It helped me feel more confident, took a lot of pressure off my math score, and got me closer to my college and Bright Futures goals.
I would definitely recommend Peace of Pi to other students. It’s a lot of work, and you have to be ready for that, but it’s worth it. My biggest advice is to go into it understanding that it’s a real commitment. If you’re willing to put in the time, the results will come.
