+250 points on the SAT Math!

“I jumped straight into tutoring with Peace of Pi and skipped the whole self-study trial and error phase. It was the first place I turned to!”

I started working with Peace of Pi at the end of 10th grade after getting a 490 on the PSAT math section. I knew I wanted to apply to strong colleges and didn’t want to spend all of junior year stressing over the SAT. My goal was to get ahead early, so I jumped straight into tutoring with Peace of Pi and skipped the whole self-study trial and error phase.

Before the course, SAT math felt really intimidating. I’d seen a lot of the concepts before in school, but I didn’t really understand how to approach the questions. Starting the program gave me the structure I needed to actually learn how to tackle SAT math in a way that finally made sense.

I was nervous at first about the four-hour Saturday Zoom classes, but once they started, the time flew by. The sessions were super interactive and didn’t feel boring or slow at all. We were constantly solving problems, getting feedback, and moving forward. It actually became a great way to kick off my weekend! I’d do my SAT work in the morning and still have the rest of the day free. I also liked doing it on Saturdays instead of weekdays because I could focus without worrying about school assignments.

I felt really comfortable in the virtual group environment. Everyone in my class was around my level, so I never felt embarrassed if I got something wrong. The tutors were kind, patient, and made sure we understood every concept. I actually liked that they were younger—they were easy to talk to and had been through the SAT themselves, so they really got it.

Before this program, I hadn’t done any SAT tutoring at all. But after just a couple of months, I went from a 490 to a 740 in math: a 250-point improvement! That score has taken so much pressure off my junior year. I feel more confident and way less overwhelmed knowing I already have a strong math score under my belt. I’ve even noticed my performance in school math classes has improved. My friends have mentioned it too, they’ve seen how much better I’ve gotten.

If I had to give advice to other students, I’d say this: decide what you want, and commit to it. The Peace of Pi program is a lot of work, but it’s worth every second. Push yourself for those two months and you’ll be glad you did.
