+120 points on the SAT Math!
“This course is for people who are ready to take it seriously and put in the effort…you’ll leave with real knowledge that gives you the chance to keep climbing.”

I first realized I needed support with the SAT when I took it cold and got a score that made it clear I wouldn’t qualify for anything I was aiming for. I knew I needed help, especially with math, and self-studying just wasn’t working. I had tried a group tutoring program before, but the sessions weren’t long or structured enough to really help. That’s when a friend recommended Peace of Pi, and I decided to go for it.

What stood out to me immediately was how structured and intense the program was. I was definitely nervous about the workload. I had heard from others that it was a lot, and I worried about whether I’d have enough time to keep up. But I made it work. I scheduled everything into my calendar, set alarms, and committed to doing as much as I could each day. I gave up some things, like naps after school and watching shows, but it was worth it. My motivation was clear: I wanted to qualify for the Bright Futures scholarship.

I went from a 430 to a 550 in math, a 120-point increase, and that’s what I was most focused on. That kind of improvement gave me the confidence to know I could keep going and eventually hit my goal. I’m planning to retake the test, but I already feel more prepared and much less stressed heading into senior year.

What helped me the most were the practice tests, especially the reviews afterward. Seeing the solutions and watching the video explanations helped me understand the logic behind each question and how to approach them better. Combined with the four-hour weekly classes, I was able to get into the right mindset for the real test.

My tutors were amazing. Even though they were close in age to me, they knew exactly how to explain things in a way that made sense. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that at first, but once the sessions started, I realized how capable and helpful they were.

To other students thinking about doing this, I’d say: be prepared to sacrifice a little bit of your free time, but know that it’s completely worth it. This course is for people who are ready to take it seriously and put in the effort. If you do that, you’ll get results. And even if your score isn’t perfect right away, you’ll leave with real knowledge that gives you the chance to keep climbing.
