+120 on the SAT Math!
“The teachers were really helpful, and I felt like I could actually talk to them if I didn’t understand something.”
In the months before I found Peace of Pi, I was really struggling with the SAT. I started studying in my junior year with another program, but it wasn’t helping me at all. The homework they gave me was super light—like two assignments a week—and I felt like I wasn’t putting in enough effort. My sister told me about Peace of Pi, and she said it was a lot of work but that it helped her improve her score a lot. So, I decided to try it out.
My biggest problem with the SAT was time and understanding the math concepts. I’ve struggled with math my whole life, and I realized I had forgotten a lot of things from earlier years, especially during quarantine. Peace of Pi really helped me go over everything in depth. Even though the homework was a lot and really challenging, it helped me so much.
At first, I was worried about the virtual group learning experience. I thought it would be a big group, and I was kind of shy about that. But it was actually just three or four students per group, which made me feel comfortable asking questions. The teachers were really helpful, and I felt like I could actually talk to them if I didn’t understand something.
The tutors at Peace of Pi are super dedicated. If you miss a day of homework, they’ll remind you. They make personalized homework plans and keep up with each student. It really feels like they care about helping you improve.
In the end, I improved my math score by 120 points, from a 490 to a 610. I was so happy with my progress, and I’m still working to bring it up even more. Now, I can apply to the colleges I wanted to but didn’t have the score for before. More than anything, I just feel proud of myself for improving so much.
For anyone studying for the SAT, my advice is to be ready to put in the work. It’s going to be tough, and you might feel like giving up sometimes, but all the effort is worth it in the end. You’ll be so proud of yourself once you see the results.
