+70 points on the SAT Math!

“If you actually care about your score…It’s definitely worth it.”

After taking the SAT three or four times, my math score was stuck between a 600–660, and I knew that wasn’t enough for the schools I wanted like UF and FSU. My goal was to be in the 1400 range, and the only thing holding me back was math not getting past a 700.

At first, I didn’t really know what to expect with virtual tutoring, especially for math since it’s usually more hands-on. I was also worried about the four-hour classes because I get bored easily with long math lectures. But once I started, it was actually better than I expected. The classes went by faster because you’re constantly answering questions, so you stay engaged the whole time.

My biggest issue was the second module, especially the harder questions at the end—I would just not know how to do them. The program really helped me understand those types of problems and improve my timing.

The workload was definitely the hardest part, especially with AP classes, sports, and extracurriculars. But I knew I had to do it, so I forced myself to make time every day. Even if I had to adjust my schedule, I always made sure everything was done before class.

What helped me the most was doing a lot of practice tests. After learning the content, taking those tests helped me figure out timing and see where I needed to improve, and it made everything feel more real.

I improved my math score to a 730 and got a 1450 overall. Before, I couldn’t even get past a 660, so finally being above 700 made a huge difference. Now I feel confident that I have a score that puts me in range for the schools I want, which gives me a lot of peace of mind.

It’s a lot of work, but if you actually care about your score and are willing to put in the effort, it’s definitely worth it.
