Kayla Lopez

+130 points on the SAT Math!

“I highly recommend Peace of Pi. The tutoring experience was totally different from any other online learning I’d done.”

My name is Kayla Lopez, and I’m in 12th Grade at Barbara Goldman Senior High. I took my first SAT in March, and that was when I realized math was where I needed the most help. Growing up, math was my strong suit, but I noticed a big difference between my reading and math scores.

My foundation wasn’t as strong as it should have been, especially after my Algebra 1 experience during digital learning in eighth grade. I didn’t fully trust that virtual tutoring could help, but Peace of Pi exceeded all my expectations. I don’t know if it was the way they broke things down or the group setting where you actually get called on to answer questions, but I felt like I had a voice, and they really listened. The surveys after each class even asked if the pace was okay, which helped keep me in a group where I could keep up and not feel overwhelmed.

I highly recommend Peace of Pi. The tutoring experience was totally different from any other online learning I’d done. Having direct access to teachers who could answer questions and clarify things on the spot made all the difference. The workload was intense, and I would advise other students to take the summer course if possible, especially if they’re juggling a lot of school and extracurriculars during the year. But it was so worth it.

My score went from 1160 to a 1340, with a 130-point jump in math, which was exactly what I needed for 100% Bright Futures. Putting in that application lifted such a weight off my parents’ shoulders. It’s a feeling I can’t really describe! You have to work hard to find out and feel it for yourself.

The hard work, late nights, and early mornings were worth every moment, and the look on my parents’ faces made it all incomparable. To any student out there, it may feel hard, but trust me, stick with it. It’s worth it in every single way! Thank you, Peace of Pi, for everything. What you all are doing is truly out of this world, and I’m so grateful for it.
