+220 points on the SAT Math!

I appreciated how the tutors consistently pushed us to do our best while being understanding and encouraging. Melanie, who attended my dream university, inspired me to keep aiming high.

I initially began self-studying for the PSAT over the summer, but when I took a practice test, I realized I was struggling with anything beyond the easier questions. It became clear that I couldn’t push myself enough to get the scores I wanted, so I started looking for a tutoring program.

Before Peace of Pi, my math confidence was low. I had been on an accelerated math track, taking Algebra 1 in seventh grade, but by the time I reached Pre-Calc and Calculus, I had forgotten foundational concepts like algebra and geometry. Quarantine only made it worse. But Peace of Pi helped me rebuild that foundation. It reminded me I *could* do math, it just needed to be taught in a way that stuck.

At first, I was skeptical about the virtual group learning format. I wondered how I’d stay focused or avoid distractions. But the sessions were incredibly interactive. My group, which had about five or six people, became a mini support system. We even had friendly competitions to see who could solve problems fastest! The group dynamic made learning fun, and the tutors were always there to help without judgment.

The program’s structure was also a game-changer. Weekly homework, mock exams, and accountability from my tutor, Melanie, kept me on track. I appreciated how the tutors consistently pushed us to do our best while being understanding and encouraging. Melanie, who attended my dream university, inspired me to keep aiming high.

The results speak for themselves: I improved my math score by 220 points, achieving a 750. This qualified me for 100% Bright Futures and made me competitive for schools I once thought were out of reach. Beyond the numbers, Peace of Pi helped me rediscover my confidence in math. Concepts that once intimidated me now feel manageable.

My advice to other students? Stick with it, even when it feels tough. The work is worth it. Opening my score report and seeing that high number was one of the most satisfying feelings ever. With Peace of Pi, I didn’t just improve my score, I proved to myself that I could do it.
