Read MoreMy name is Lara A Font, and I’m a senior at Ronald Reagan Senior High. The realization that I needed the help of Peace of Pi came when I understood that my own studying wasn’t gonna be enough to tackle the SAT and get the improvement I wanted. Despite putting effort into my schoolwork and extracurricular activities, I knew my SAT score was the only thing holding me back on my college application. My study method was to watch videos and practice exams, but self-studying was challenging. I would often procrastinate and suffer with time management. When I found Peace of Pi, I realized they could help keep on track and help me overcome these challenges.
At the time, I was studying Cambridge A Level Pure Mathematics and Statistics. I noticed the content on the SAT Math felt unfamiliar to the things I was learning in my advanced math classes. I’d gotten so far ahead that I had forgotten many math concepts from Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. I knew I needed to relearn them, and that Peace of Pi could help me do that.
I found Peace of Pi through my mom, who learned about the program from a coworker. Initially, I had concerns about the workload and its impact on my summer vacation. However, I soon realized that the program allowed me to maintain a balance between studying and free-time if I managed my time and priorities right.
The virtual group learning experience exceeded my expectations. It was better than my school’s online classes, and despite the long 4-hour sessions, the breaks and individualized assistance made it more engaging. The tutors ensured we remained focused and didn’t slack off, which was essential for virtual learning.
Ultimately, Peace of Pi helped me achieve a 700 on my SAT Math, a significant improvement of +130 points from my starting score of 570! This boost in my SAT score was a game-changer, opening doors to my dream school, UF. The acceptance letter brought tears of joy and disbelief.
My advice to other students is to use the three SAT attempts wisely and not get discouraged if the initial results are below your expectations. Use disappointment as motivation to study and improve. It takes effort, but in the end, it’s worth it. I’m immensely grateful to Peace of Pi for their guidance and support, helping me realize my potential and achieve my goals!
