+160 points on the SAT Math!
“The mock tests also helped a lot because I started seeing the same types of questions, which really boosted my confidence.”
My starting point was simple: I was going into senior year and I needed Bright Futures. I knew I was going to college no matter what, so it just made sense to try to save as much money as possible.
Before prep, my biggest issue was that I didn’t remember all the formulas and I didn’t really know the full process for solving questions. A lot of times I would just guess instead of actually working through the problem.
At first, I thought the classes were going to be boring, like just sitting there doing problems on my own. But it was actually really interactive. The tutor wouldn’t move on until we understood the question, which helped a lot.
I was also surprised with the four-hour classes. They are long, but if you understand your goals, you can get through them. For me, I actually preferred the classes over homework.
Even though I don’t usually like homework, it was probably the thing that helped me the most. Repeating the problems over and over made everything stick, and then the classes helped solidify that understanding.
The mock tests also helped a lot because I started seeing the same types of questions, which really boosted my confidence.
I ended up getting a 700 in math, and it got me really close to Bright Futures. I’m really happy with that, and I know I can keep improving.
