+100 points on the SAT Math!
“…without something like Peace of Pi, I wouldn’t push myself as much to actually study and improve.”
I sought out an SAT Prep Course because I felt like I had a lot of potential that I wasn’t reaching with my SAT score. I hadn’t really tried any prep before, and I knew that without something like Peace of Pi, I wouldn’t push myself as much to actually study and improve.
Going into the program, I thought the group setting might make it harder to go at my own pace, but it actually worked well because everyone was at a similar level. The classes were long (four hours is definitely a lot, especially with school) but the tutors gave breaks and kept things moving. Managing the workload was mostly about time management since I had a lot of schoolwork too. I would split it up by doing some Peace of Pi work and then prioritizing school so I could balance both.
What helped me the most was the homework and the tutoring sessions. The homework gave me constant practice with real SAT-style questions, and during the sessions, the tutors would walk me through problems step by step instead of just giving answers. That really helped me understand what I was missing and how to fix it.
In the end, I improved 100 points, going from a 590 on the PSAT to a 690 on the SAT math. That showed me how much focused practice actually helps and how important it is to put in the work. I’d say the program is definitely worth it if you take full advantage of it, because if you focus, ask questions, and use all the resources, you’ll get the results. My biggest advice is to stay consistent, go to tutoring sessions, and really use everything they give you to improve.
