+80 on the SAT Math!
“This experience prepared me for the actual SAT, making the test feel like a breeze.“
Before joining Peace of Pi, I attempted to study for the SAT math section on my own. While I made some progress relearning geometry and algebra concepts, I struggled with the more challenging questions. After taking a real test and scoring a 660, I enrolled in another program and improved to a 710. However, I knew that for the colleges I aimed to apply to, I needed an even higher score. Hearing about Peace of Pi from friends who achieved amazing scores, I decided to give it a try, and it truly paid off.
The previous program I attended was lecture-based and, frankly, felt boring. I found it hard to concentrate, reminiscent of the Zoom classes during the COVID days where I would end up distracted by my phone. In contrast, Peace of Pi’s sessions were intensive and interactive, keeping me engaged throughout.
Before tutoring, my biggest challenges were timing and tackling the harder questions. I would spend five to seven minutes on a single problem without realizing I needed to move on. Additionally, I struggled with geometry and percentages. Peace of Pi helped me address these issues effectively.
Initially, I thought the Zoom classes would be hard to concentrate in, especially given their intensive nature during the school year alongside my AP courses. However, I found the classes engaging and was able to manage my time effectively. The group environment, which I initially thought would be less effective than one-on-one sessions, turned out to be highly personalized. Learning alongside peers at my level allowed me to learn from their mistakes, and the sessions were well-organized.
The four-hour classes seemed daunting at first, but they were interactive and enjoyable, making the time fly by. This experience also prepared me for the actual SAT, making the test feel like a breeze. The tutors, despite being close in age, were highly knowledgeable and relatable. Their understanding of the concepts and ability to connect made the learning experience comfortable and effective.
Balancing school, varsity tennis, and SAT prep was challenging. I had to miss some practices and matches due to tutoring, but it was worth it. My score improved significantly, which has boosted my confidence in applying to colleges like the University of Florida, Northwestern, and Georgia Tech.
Peace of Pi’s service is intensive and requires dedication. It’s a lot of work, but in the end, it pays off, helping you achieve the score you desire.I started with a 710 in math and improved by 80 points to a 790, thanks to Peace of Pi. This result allows me to apply more confidently to my chosen colleges without worrying about my SAT score.
The investment in Peace of Pi was absolutely worth it. On a scale of one to ten, I would rate my likelihood of recommending Peace of Pi to another student as a 10. My advice to other students on the SAT prep journey is to avoid procrastination. Complete the work as assigned, stay focused during Zoom sessions, and give it your all. If I were to start my SAT prep over, I would adhere more strictly to the provided schedule, completing a few assignments each day instead of leaving everything until the end.
