Hello, my name is Philippe Riobe, currently a twelfth-grade student at Belen Jesuit. My SAT journey took a significant turn when I realized I needed to make a change after my December results fell short of expectations, especially in math where I scored a disappointing 530. Determined to reach the required 1340 for the Bright Futures scholarship, I sought alternative assistance and found it in Peace of Pi Learning.
Initially recommended by friends and intrigued by the success stories shared on Instagram, I embarked on a journey that would ultimately reshape my approach to SAT preparation. Unlike my previous experience with individual tutoring, Peace of Pi provided a structured and comprehensive program, offering materials directly relevant to the SAT.
Despite initial reservations about virtual group learning, my concerns were quickly dispelled by the organized and focused environment fostered by Peace of Pi. Unlike my prior encounters with Zoom classes during eighth grade, distractions were minimal, allowing me to fully engage with the material.
Comparing Peace of Pi’s service to an honors class seems apt, emphasizing the necessity of focus and dedication. The manageable workload, strategically scheduled throughout the week, tested my time management skills, but it was worth it in the end.
The results speak volumes: a remarkable improvement in my math score, soaring from 530 to an impressive 670 after completing Peace of Pi. This 140-point leap not only eased the stress of my senior year but also opened doors to various scholarship opportunities, including larger ones at UM.
For those embarking on their SAT journey, I stress the importance of the pre-classwork provided by Peace of Pi, which serves as a solid foundation for the actual classes. Viewing the program as a manageable undertaking and maintaining dedication and organization are key to success.
Reflecting on my journey, I am grateful for the effective virtual learning experience, the positive results achieved, and the supportive environment fostered by the dedicated tutors at Peace of Pi. Their guidance has undoubtedly played a pivotal role in my academic journey, and I am excited to see where it leads me next.
