+80 points on the SAT Math!

“I kept running out of time on practice tests. But by the end of the program, I could finish the section with time to spare for review.”

Before I joined Peace of Pi, I knew I wanted to start studying for the SAT early. I’d heard so many good things about the program, and I knew that if I wanted to get the math score I needed, and really wanted, this was the right path for me. I had tried self-studying a bit using a school-provided website, but it just wasn’t helping me enough. I needed something more rigorous, something that would actually hold me accountable and guide me in the right direction.

One of my biggest struggles was timing. I kept running out of time on practice tests. But by the end of the program, I could finish the section with time to spare for review. That alone was a huge breakthrough for me.

I was definitely nervous going in. I heard it would be a big time commitment: four-hour classes and a lot of homework. But what I didn’t expect was how much support I’d actually get. The teachers weren’t just helpful, they were always on top of everything, guiding me the whole way. And the videos? They helped way more than I thought they would. The assignments felt personalized, as if they knew exactly how much I could handle each day. Even if I needed more time, the pacing was super fair.

The virtual group format was another thing I was unsure about. I’d never done anything like that before. But it turned out to be really interactive and way more beneficial than I expected. I even got used to the long classes: those four hours go by fast when you’re engaged and learning the whole time.

As for the tutors, I actually liked that they were close in age. Most of them had taken the course themselves and recently gone through the SAT, so they knew exactly what we were dealing with and how to master it. They really got it.

In the end, I improved my math score from a 590 to a 750, which was incredible—especially as a 10th grader! I now have a 1380 overall, which already qualifies me for 100% Bright Futures, and I haven’t even studied for reading yet. Getting my dream math score this early gives me a huge sense of relief. Even if reading takes longer to improve, I know I’m in a strong position overall.

I’d say to any student thinking about Peace of Pi: yes, it’s a lot of work, and it sounds intimidating at first, but every bit of it is worth it. If you’re willing to show up and follow the plan, you’ll be amazed by the results.
