+140 points on the SAT Math!
“What really stood out about Peace of Pi was how organized and intentional the program is.”
I realized I needed to start preparing seriously after receiving my PSAT results in 10th grade. Math has always been my stronger subject, so I decided to begin there. A lot of my friends had already recommended Peace of Pi, and after trying a few SAT prep sessions elsewhere, I could tell I needed a more structured and effective program.
I had previously done some tutoring with Kaplan, but the experience felt very fast-paced and not very interactive. I didn’t always have the opportunity to ask questions, and I often felt like I was just being pushed through problems without fully understanding them. Going into Peace of Pi, I was a little unsure—especially about the long four-hour sessions and whether I’d really be able to keep up.
Those concerns disappeared pretty quickly. The virtual group sessions were much more hands-on and engaging than I expected. The tutors encouraged questions, explained concepts clearly, and made sure everyone understood before moving on. The four-hour sessions actually helped build my focus and mental stamina, which ended up being really helpful for the actual SAT. The breaks during class also mirrored the test-day experience, so everything felt familiar.
One thing I really appreciated was the quality of the tutors. I had different tutors during weekend sessions and weekday reviews, and each of them explained problems in their own way. Seeing multiple approaches helped me understand concepts more deeply. I also liked that the tutors were closer to my age—they had taken the SAT more recently and knew exactly how to explain things in a way that made sense to students.
Managing the workload wasn’t always easy, especially since I play two sports. There were definitely weeks where it felt like a lot. But having structured homework, clear schedules, and constant support made a big difference. Even when I forgot how to do something from class, the homework videos were always there to help. It never felt like I was doing the work alone.
What really stood out about Peace of Pi was how organized and intentional the program is. The team constantly checked in through WhatsApp to make sure assignments were completed and nothing fell behind. I liked that accountability—it pushed me to stay on top of my work and avoid procrastination. Everything builds on what you’ve already learned, so staying consistent really matters.
The homework videos were one of the most helpful parts of the course. Even though they weren’t live, they felt like actual lessons rather than just explanations. I also loved how each four-hour session was broken into different sections, with a new topic each hour. Even though the classes were long, they went by quickly and never felt repetitive.
The cram reviews were another highlight. The questions were more challenging than usual, but that made them incredibly valuable. There were several problems I’m confident I wouldn’t have known how to solve without attending those reviews.
As a result of the program, I saw a significant improvement in my SAT math performance, increasing by +140 points from where I started. More importantly, it showed me that this was just the beginning. It gave me confidence that if I continue putting in the same level of effort, I can keep improving, not just in math, but in reading as well.
Even though Peace of Pi is a big commitment, I believe the investment was absolutely worth it. I would recommend the program to any student who is serious about improving their SAT score. My advice is to start early, stay consistent, and put in the work. The effort you give directly shows in the results, and Peace of Pi gives you the structure and support to make that happen.
